Design Brief
For this design project, students were instructed to create two posters based on a lyrical song. I was able to utilize type and image to communicate the technological feel of Grimes' song, titled "I Wanna Be Software." After picking the song, I chose an important lyric to emphasize in my poster design. Fonts, colors, and text placement were experimented with, in order to accentuate the call out lyric and better convey the song's visual aesthetic. The second poster, shown on the right, has an image that I picked to better convey the emotional feel and storytelling aspect of Grimes' song. Both posters visually correlate and communicate the song's feel and lyrics.
